Japan Box Office Ranking (Week of Oct 10 – 11)

Half of the movies in the latest box office chart are new movie entries. Library Wars: THE LAST MISSION starring Okada Junichi topped the charts. Fantastic Four did poorly at the box office and opened at no. 6

Library Wars: THE LAST MISSION, sequel to Arikawa Hiroshi’s “Library Wars “movie took the top spot. The movie was shown in over 323 screens and pulled over 246,395 people and earned 329,462,700 Yen. The latest numbers are more than 50% higher than the previous movie, which looks good to achieve a total of 2 billion Yen.

The Intern starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro mobilized 130,771 people in over 272 screens and earned 178,082,900 Yen.

Animated film UFO Gakuen no Himitsu was published in 172 screens and attended by 85,495 people and earned 117,205,850 Yen. Fantastic Four opened at 6th place.The movie was shown in over 639 screens and pulled over 70,761 people and earned 93,957,600 Yen. Animated movie based on a children’s novel Gamba: Gamba to Nakama-tachi ranked 7th. The movie was published in 596 screens and mobilized 58,740 people and earned 75,053,900 Yen.

Last week’s no.1 movie, Bakuman pulled over 155,656 viewers and earned 210,261,400. Heroine Shikkaku ranked 4th place this week while Attack on Titan: End of the World drops to 8th place. Unfair: The End is at no. 10. The movie already earned 2.1 billion Yen in total.
