Assassination Classroom: Graduation dethrones Doraemon Movie 36: Nobita and the Birth of Japan at the top spot of the box office chart this week. The film had a huge weekend and opened bigger than the first Assassination Classroom movie shown last year. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opened at no. 3.

Assasination Classroom: Graduation, sequel to the smash hit Assassination Classroom movie shown in March last year which grossed total of 2.7 billion Yen, topped the box office chart this week. Shown in over 319 screens, the movie mobilized 544,641 people during the 2 day weekend and earned 639,193,900 Yen. The result is a 55.6% increase than the first movie. With a good start, it looks forward to a finish of over 3 billion Yen.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice entered the chart at no. 3. The movie opened on 717 screens last March 25. The movie attracted 231,377 people during the weekend opening and earned 371,254,400 Yen. Including its Friday opening, the movie recorded earnings of 501,128,500 Yen. The weekend numbers is 38.4% higher than the previous movie “Man of Steel”. It is expected to earn total of 1.5 billion Yen.
Kamen Rider 1 is at no. 4. The movie was also made to commemorate the 45th anniversary of “Masked Rider”. It was shown in 307 screens, mobilized 123,702 and earned 155,290,500 Yen. This is 30.3% lower than the previous movie Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider: Ghost and Driver Super MOVIE shown in December last year.
