Historical film Sekigahara starring Okada Junichi tops the box office chart 2 weeks in a row. The film delivered solid hold at the charts, exceeding 1 billion Yen on its second week.
Uchiage Hanabi, Shita kara Miru ka? Yoko kara Miru ka? exceeded 1 billion yen on its 3rd weekend, a number below expectations. The anime film was not able to follow through Kimi no na wa’s box office performance as it failed to draw numbers comparable to its solid opening day.
Kimi no Suizo wo Tabetai (2017) is proving to be the surprise box office hit this summer delivering yet another strong weekend hold. In 6 weeks, the film has exceeded 2.8 billion Yen at the box office.
