On October 19, Sakanaction will release their new single, “Tabun, Kaze.” The then-untitled single was originally supposed to be released on August 10, but was delayed so that the band could perfect things. The songmaking process for this song took over a year. A clip of “Tabun, Kaze.” was previously heard earlier this year in the commercial for Shiseido’s Anessa sunscreen.
The single’s B-side, “moon”, is the CM song for au×HAKUTO MOON CHALLENGE. au has teamed up with HAKUTO, the only Japanese team entered in Google Lunar XPRIZE, a competition between various international teams to see which one can land a rover on the moon, with all private financing. Sakanaction’s frontman Ichiro Yamaguchi appears in the commercial with HAKUTO’s leader Takeshi Hakamada.
The DVD / Blu-ray that comes with the limited edition of the single includes footage from 2 LINE LIVE sessions, one with Boku no Lyric no Boyomi, and the other with model LUKA, who appeared in the music video for the band’s song “Slow Motion.” The video disc also features a portion titled “BAR Sakanaction＿”, in which Ichiro plays bartender for his bandmates. Altogether, the DVD / Blu-ray that comes with the single is over 100 minutes long.
