The upcoming digital single “Kimi no Mikata” from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu debuted on radio waves last night on Tokyo FM’s “SCHOOL OF LOCK!“.
As previously reported, the song was first heard earlier this year at Kyary’s yearly birthday event where she was gifted the song by producer Yasutaka Nakata of capsule.
In the chat portion of the radio segment, Kyary discussed the song and its message of living the life that you want. Check out the radio rip below:
The song itself is different from her previous efforts, many fans likening the song to earlier Perfume songs.
Opening with a rhyming sort-of rap, Kyary notes the song’s hip-hop influence and her goal to deliver purposeful pop with a larger message, evoking a similar feeling to singer’s previous singles “Fashion Monster” or “Mondai Girl” that boasted broadcasting her unique sense of self.
Additionally, the Harajuku singer is taking her first Halloween solo concert “THE SPOOKY OBAKEYASHIKI ~PUMPKINS STRIKE BACK~” to the world stage, making stops in the US, England, and Germany—tickets on sale today.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s digital single “Kimi no Mikata” goes on sale April 11.
