Hikawa Kiyoshi Wins the Grand Prize at the 50th Japan Yusen Taisho + Full Show

Earlier today, this year’s edition of the Japan Yusen Taisho was held. The winner of the Grand Prize was Hikawa Kiyoshi. He beat out of the likes of AKB48, Keyakizaka46, Daichi Miura, and Nishino Kana for the win.

      Why were old songs performed? I thought this was an award ceremony for songs from the past year.

        Because the jpop scene of today pales in comparison to what it used to be? Also, I think a lot of young people no longer really watch these kind of award shows so they cater it more towards an older audience.
