On September 30, Sakanaction will release their new single, “Shin Takarajima.” The song will serve as the theme song for the movie “Bakuman”, which was adapted from the popular manga series of the same name. In addition to the movie’s theme song, Sakanaction will also be in charge of the film’s score, a first for the band.
Besides the title track, the single will also include the song “‘Kikitakatta Dance Music, LIQUIDROOM ni'”, a funk tune that was inspired by the band’s NF events which were held at Tokyo’s LIQUIDROOM. The single will also include a remix of “Inner World”, courtesy of AOKI takamasa.
As previously reported, “Shin Takarajima”, will come in 3 editions: a 2CD+DVD Deluxe Limited Edition, a CD+DVD Limited Edition, and a CD only Regular Edition. The Deluxe Limited Edition comes in a box which features a drawing by Obata Takeshi (the illustrator of “Bakuman”) on it. The drawing is of Azuki Miho, the heroine of the series. The drawing is half complete to express the concept of drawing lines that is presented in “Shin Takarajima.”
Tonight, Sakanaction debuted “Shin Takarajima” on TOKYO FM’s radio show “SCHOOL OF LOCK!” A radio rip of the song has surfaced. Check it out after the jump along with the single’s covers and tracklist.
