Top stars Masami Nagasawa and Issei Takahashi will be playing a couple in the upcoming movie “Uso wo aisuru onna”. The film will be released next year and serves as the directorial debut (for a feature film) for Kazuhito Nakae, who is most known for his CM work. 

The plot is a mixture of a love story and mystery drama, Masami plays the role of “Yukari Kawahara”, a busy career woman who lives with her boyfriend Kippei Koide (Issei Takahashi) who is a medical intern. They have been living together for the past 5 years and plan to marry very soon.

One day Kippei suddenly collapses due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage which leads to him slipping into a coma. Eventually the police come knocking on her door, and she finds out everything she knew about Kippei has been a lie. His Japanese identity card, name, and even occupation were all faked. Yukari decides to head to Kippei’s hometown located near the Seto Inland Sea in hopes of finding some answers. She’s aided by private detective Takumi Kaibara (Kotaro Yoshida). “Uso wo aisuru onna’s” producer explained that they wanted to showcase the strength of a successful career woman. One moment she’s in Louboutins at the office, the next she’s in sneakers trying to solve the mystery of her boyfriend’s identity.

Masami and Issei have a very long professional history together.  In 2004 they starred in the film “Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu”, and they also started in the creative dTV CM campaign where they play a married couple, but the wife lives in space and the husband lives in Tokyo. This new collaboration is sure to cause a lot of attention.
