Japan Box Office Ranking (Week of Apr 2 – 3)

The top 3 at the box office charts remained unchanged from last week. Assassination Classroom: Graduation starring Hey! Say! JUMP’s Ryosuke Yamada continued its strong run at no. 1 for the 2nd week, and has surpassed 2 million admissions in 10 days. Doraemon Movie 36: Nobita and the Birth of Japan and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice retained the 2nd and 3rd place.

For new movies, Ayashii Kanojo starring Mikako Tabe opens at no. 8 and horror film Nozokime starring Tomomi Itano is ranked at no. 13.

Assasination Classroom: Graduation is at no.1 for 2 straight weeks. The movie attracted 335,418 viewers last weekend with a gross of 393,471,200 Yen. Total mobilization has surpassed 2 million viewers and earnings surpassed 2 billion Yen.

Doraemon Movie 36: Nobita and the Birth of Japan is at no. 2 and was watched by 198,103 viewers last weekend with gross earnings of 234,597,000 Yen. Total mobilization is soon to reach 3 million .

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice kept the 3rd place. The film mobilized 136,402 viewers and earned 223,038,900 Yen. It topped 1 billion yen earnings and mobilized total of 700,000 people.

Taking advantage of Spring Break, Chihayafuru: Kaminoku rose to the 4th position. A PR event was held in Osaka Dotonbori last March 30 for the movie. It will soon reach 1 billion Yen in earnings. Pixar animation The Good Dinosaur also went up to 5th place. Precure All Stars Movie: Minna de Utau♪: Kiseki no Mahou remained at no.8.

Ayashii Kanojo starring Mikako Tabe, a remake of the South Korean hit film “Miss Granny”, opened at no. 9. The movie was published in 280 screens and mobilized 47,824 people and earned 60,260,400 Yen.

Horror movie Nozokime starring former AKB48 member Tomomi Itano is ranked at no. 13.
