Synopsis: This is a story about single women, housewives, single mothers with children, and those that have a job as a dual-income family, who all try to discover a new path in their lives to find happiness. The original story is based on the Yuikawa Kei’s story which was also a serial publication in the popular women’s fashion magazine ‘STORY,’ between 2008 to 2010. The story depicts the main character played by Maki Yoko, who suddenly becomes a fashion model and climbs her way to the top of the industry.

The name ‘Cecile,’ in the title comes from the French novelist Françoise Sagan’s book ‘Bonjour tristesse,’ in which ‘Cecile’ is the main character. In the book, she has a very pretty appearance, yet has a terrifying plot in her mind. Therefore, the name Cecile may be linked to things like a woman’s anxiety and other areas of emotion and mind games. In the drama, many kinds of women, such as sports personalities and beauticians will make a special appearance to depict the different life styles of women.

The main character in the drama is Miyaji Nao (Maki Yoko), who is a very modest woman, spends her days as a housewife and lives with her husband and junior high school son. Even though her lifestyle is not luxurious, small things in her everyday life makes her happy. Like going out to the local grocers to buy her son’s dinner ingredients.

One day, Nao gets contacted by a famous fashion magazine ‘Vanity,’ asking her if she’s interested in becoming one of their models. Since this day, she makes her way into an industry which she has no clue about. A fashion industry which mainly focuses on the outer appearance is something that she isn’t fond of. However, after working with writers and models, her negative image gradually transforms into something more positive, and her sense of values begin to change.

Things like jealousy, pride and relationship rivalry are some of the things that most women feel affected by. How will Nao survive inside a world of ‘Cecile.’
Also, when we talk about fashion magazine models, it’s more directed towards the readers, and is completely different from professional modelling. How Nao will gradually open herself up in this new world is also something to watch out for in the drama

    • seniferreira

Looking forward to Code Blue season 3! Cecile no Mokuromi has an interesting synopsis… The fashion theme might be ‘cliché’, but I always love those sort of plots

    • WhySoLonely

To be honest the whole season looks lackluster.

Either the lead actors are bad or the synopsis is boring.

Maybe one or two of them will turn out surprisingly good with good directing.

    • D*D

Hello Harinezumi looks like it’ll be good, the cast seems very “my pace” and don’t look like they’d match but they seem to work well, and it seems like it has the same feel as Kudo Kankuro’s early dramas. Also Radwimps’ Noda Yojiro is collaborating with SOIL & PIMP SESSIONS for the theme song that already sounds like it’ll be really good.

    • gase

So Nagase’s character was raised as a Korean? Twitter seems positive about the drama debut last night but gchan summary says the characters behavior is strange for Japanese.

      • Awalia Hanifah

“Strange for Japanese”? May I ask what did gchan say about this in more detail? I’m kinda curious here ^^

        • gase

I have no idea what they meant by it tbh. Its unfair hate imo. If he’s raised Korean, so the character is suppose to have different quirks from an average Japanese

    • panpandaa

ryo’s drama airing in different asian countries as ‘My loser husband’ same time as japan💕

i feel sorry for his character which what we are suppose to feel so i guess they did a good job for ep1😄

    • The Dark Dudette

Looking fordward to Code Blue 3 , mostly for the nostalgia.

    • Owari Konoyono

I’m most excited “Akira and Akira.” the original work by Jun Ikeido.
However, it is regrettable the paid channel WOWWOW.
I expect his work “RIKUOH” on TBS the next season.

    • Lia

I’ve watched the first episode of Gomen, Aishiteru, and I must say this is going to be a total melodrama.
There are some differences from the original K-drama version (in which I’m glad they make those changes!)
I love it when Nagase Tomoya speaks Korean, the accent is still quite stiff for sure but his facial expression really helps. Somehow he’s not as “rude and thug-like” as the original version, or maybe the director wants it that way? And I wish Yoshioka Riho can be more naive and pure-hearted like in the K-drama version, while for Sakaguchi Kentaro, he’s got that annoying character he’s supposed to play. Good job everyone!
Looking forward to the 2nd episode!

      • It needed to be a total melodrama since the Korean version is a total melodrama as well. I wonder if I should just watch it while it is airing or wait until it is completely finished since the story is just so heartbreaking (if they actually follow the Korean version).

Is the mother in the Japanese version as charismatic as the Korean version? I hate the mother’s guts but she was fantastic tbh.

        • Lia

Yup, but tbh I just didn’t expect it would be as sad as this. I lowkey hope this version wouldn’t be as depressing as the original ver ‘cuz I don’t wanna feel the same depression as when I watch that K-version.

Sadly I’m quite disappointed with the mother’s role ‘cuz she’s not as extra, glamorous, and touch-me-not as the one in K-drama. But I hope it will turns out well as the drama goes on. And me too! The mother’s facial expressions are great, I could feel her unconditional love towards her idol son and her confusion/curiosity/tearfulness whenever she saw her ‘thug’ son. She’s one of my fave character.

          • Ahh you made me want to watch it now. I need it to be as depressing as the K-version lol. I cried a river when I watched the original so I need it to be as sad. 8D I was really down when I watch the original more than 10 years ago. I have the DVD but I never rewatch it since it was like the saddest drama I have ever seen — too depressing to go through it all over again. I practically cried all the way watching the last 2 episodes. :P The part where Eunchae captured Moohyuk’s facial features one by one using her handphone was so sad! The writer was brilliant I must say.

            Many people didnt understand the mother and the reason why Moohyuk never reveal his true identity to her. Can you imagine if he actually tell the mother his and his sister real identity? The mother probably will follow Eunchae’s footstep as well. ;_;

            • Lia

You know what? You sent shivers down my spine… twice! First your
description about Eunchae taking photos and the second is about Moohyuk
never reveal his true identity to his mom! I still got goosebumps every
time I remember about this drama’s scenes. Mention any scenes and I will absolutely remember it to the tiniest detail!

And tbh I’ve never understood why Moohyuk did that before. Your theory is genius!

I recommend you to watch Gomen, Aishiteru from the 1st episode ‘cuz the anticipation of the next episode will gear you up! It’ll be more exciting for sure lol

    • Looking forward to Code Blue 3 the most since I miss the drama and hopefully we will get to see more medical stuffs aka ~Iryu~. And hopefully all 5 main characters have life outside their career since its so cliche if they are single and alone or worst divorced (lol) like all the previous senior doctors. OTL

If we can get surprise couple like Haruka & Fujikawa sensei is together and married is even better. :P

    • At least i want to watch the first eps of :
      Code Blue 3
      My Loser Husband
      Plague
      Kahogo no Kahoko

    • FrozenLand

      Thanks Reileen!

My most anticipated dramas are Bokutachi ga Yarimashita, Kurokawa no Techou, Code Blue ~ Doctor Heli Kinkyuu Kyuumei ~ THE THIRD SEASON and Aishitetatte, Himitsu wa Aru❣

I will be more excited about CODE BLUE 3 and Aishitetatte, Himitsu wa Aru if both had better screenwriters in the first place.

I’m also looking forward to Gintama Mitsuba Hen and Kahogo no Kahoko mainly for the cast.

      • Reileen

        Why? Who’s writing the script?

        • FrozenLand

Hayashi Kouji wrote CODE BLUE 1 and 2. Word has it he didn’t want to write for Fuji TV anymore. I’m not sure of the details.

Adachi Naoko will be writing CODE BLUE 3. She wrote a lot of romance dramas including Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta, Rich Man, Poor Woman, Shitsuren Chocolatier, Daibinbou etc.

I’m afraid Adachi Naoko will turn CODE BLUE 3 into a trashy romance drama, which CODE BLUE is NOT about.

Kuwamura Sayaka is the screenwriter for Aishitetatte, Himitsu wa Aru. Her recent works include Koinaka and Suki na Hito ga Iru Koto. I’m not sure if she can write suspense well. I find her dramas boring to be honest. 😅

    • goingtojpn

I am not very excited about this season, but still, on my list:
      – Akira to Akira
      – Plage
      – Gomen, Aishiteru

And LOL at Chiba Yudai playing again a (19-year-old) student. Forever stuck in student roles.

    • eplizo

I haven’t been keeping up with any J-dramas lately at all, so the only one I’m probably going to watch is Gomen, Aishiteru.

    • Karen Khoo

Akira to Akira looks interesting !!
