Nobunaga Concerto, if the drama follows the anime/manga, Oguri Shun is a high school student for only the first part, where they show that he’s a student who somehow slipped into the past. After that, his character is more like a modern day person who has to live in the past, as a warrior. So in that sense, it’d be more believable than getting a younger person playing the part of a warrior.

Tldr: Oguri Shun’s a high school student for at most only the half an hour of the first episode (if I’m guessing correctly), and not throughout the drama.

      • yanderenightmares

        Sounds interesting enough.

    • chifunii

Thanks for compiling this! Basically I want to watch all of them.

      • Reileen

        woah goodluck!

    • sparkling

Choice lineup this season! (Though there are a number of dramas that are based around a murder)

I plan on watching First Class 2, Massan, Kurofuku Monogatari, and Dear Sister. If I have time, then I’ll check out Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu. Fukushi Sota has been getting it these last two years and the story sounds like it could be really awesome!

    • l3012

This season has many interesting options! I’m looking forward for First Class 2 and Kengo Kora’s mostly (the latter because that most of the doramas he’s involved end up being good).

      • Mela

he always chooses good dramas imho, not to mention his talent and look….must watch

    • Mela

wow..sounds interesting,..don’t know what to pick

    • Yu Wei

Looking forward to GuGu Datte Neko de Aru and Gomenne Seishun the most. I’m definitely gonna watch Kurofuku Monogatari (even tho it looks like trash) for my kween Yukirin.

      • Joe Gibken

Was also considering that because Yukirin… but Nozomi Sasaki’s acting somewhat irks me even though she’s so eyecandy… I don’t know why T_T

    • Observer

I realized people here have different taste than most Japanese viewers lol. Dramas that is most commented by people there is not even mentioned at all once. I didnt get why there was so much buzz regarding Shun’s drama. I bet most people here are idol fans : fanboys and fangirls? Quite surprised still

      • Guest

obviously Oguri’s fans. But his previous drama got average ratings and good reviews didn’t it?

      • Observer too

Lol. Maybe because we don’t know what are the dramas that most Japanese viewers are talking about? I think there is a huge disconnect between English speaking drama fans and native Japanese drama fans. Most likely because there is no way to interact between us since we speak different languages, with most Japanese viewers more comfortable going on Japanese-only sites and English speaking viewers who could not read Japanese on those sites. Just an observation on my end.

      • AA

So what are the most talked about dramas by the Japanese?

      • Hmm

Because Japanese people can just pick whatever they’re interested in, but most international fans have to rely on what gets subtitled/translated. When I was reading these listings, I was thinking, “Hm, I doubt I’ll find a subtitled version of that one. Oh, that one has a Johnny? Then someone will definitely subtitle that one.” I don’t know why, but idol fandom stuff just has more of a community for translations.

That’s not the only reason there are differences, of course.

        • yanderenightmares

Dude, tell me about it. Took me so long to find a sub for Minna esper dayo.

      • Andre

Your comment makes absolute no sense considering Oguri Shun’s drama is actually the big bet of the season considering it has a super star studded cast, is a gekku and is a 55th Fuji Anniversary drama so it is being overly promoted and talked about A LOT in Japan

    • Joe Gibken

Jigoku Sensei Nube (loved the anime and manga), Nobunaga Concerto are sure must watch for me.

Isn’t Time Spiral already airing? Already watching it as I suck at time traveling series :P

    • let me finish FIRST CLASS SEASON 1 soon i’m not ready!!

    • Guest

I’m going to watch Ayase’s cheesy, cliche drama. I don’t care

      • junny

Heh, I’m gonna watch it too, but for Tamaki Hiroshi.

Also eyeing Nobunaga Concerto for Fujiki, Mukai and Yamada, and the taxi drama for Yutaka.

        • yanderenightmares

Oooh, he’s in it. I guess I’ll give it a try then.

    • DoSHachiko

Mainly excited for First Class 2! c: The behind the scenes preview for it made me pretty excited to see the Season 1 group again. D: Also pretty excited to see Dear Sister for Iwata Takanori. He looks so cute together with Ishihara Satomi. c: Probably watch Oguri Shun’s drama as well, although, still can’t picture him as a high school student. >_>

      • Omnirosa

Let’s hope someone subtitles First Class 2. It looks hotter than the first one for sure

      • alliz

Some of the S1 cast from First Class will appear on the first episode, it seems. Nozomi, Nanao, Yuka Itaya and even Nicole have been posting about the S2 on their social media accounts :)

        • Reileen

it was confirmed that they will appear in Season 2. A spin off drama/ episode featuring Remie aired a few weeks ago

    • momomanju

Looking forward for Doctor X season 3. been obsessed with that drama, since technically i am going to be a medical student lolz.

    • hotaru hime

time travelling + nobunaga~~ reminds me a little of tamamori’s nobunaga no chef. the summary sounds interesting~ can’t wait to watch it~

    • guest

      Dear Sister because of…

      • What

GUN CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN <3 that's exactly my reason to watch it

      • yanderenightmares

        AHHHHH, my baby.

Sorry I fangirled but he’s soooooo cute.

    • readlead0

      Doctor X 3 for sure!!! :D

    • Guest

      TAKENOUCHI YUTAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
and holy crap Koike Teppei is back! :O

    • erruhurr

So, no more zero experience in sport highschool boys struggling to achieve their dream as no.1 sport team in province this season? Kind of sad :((

And guess what, we have another season of MOZU, pffttt.

    • eplizo

OMFG. FUCK ME! I didn’t know Takenouchi Yutaka was starring in a new drama. I’m readyyyy. I might be watching that, Dear Sister, and Nobunaga Concerto, or at least give them a shot.

    • OhSnap!

      queen Erika saving this season.
I feel like supporting Meisa. She is working too hard to pay for her husband’s “independent label” lol

Lining up for Ayase’s drama and definitely First Class 2. As someone has already pointed, I might watch Kuroki’s dramas to support her and her 2 babies.

    • Kame!Sho

Mozu sounds like the most interesting drama out of all these, but I’m also thinking of checking N No Tame Ni, Akka, Dear Sister and Fukushi Sota’s new drama even though it sounds like it’ll be full of cliches.

      • Reileen

Mozu Season 2 actually aired last season at WOWOW, it’s just going to be aired at TBS this time

    • Really nice selection. I was just thinking about what should i watch now. I watch Japanese dramas for years and i saw houndreds of them and now it’s hard to find something good what i didn’t see. Last drama was Majisuka Gakuen 1,2,3. Don’t know why but i tried to resist for a long time and not to watch it even i’m big fan of AKB48 but i finally watched it and it was awesome.
I heard about Nobunaga Concerto some time ago and it could be good especially because i love dramas/movies with time traveling and also with “reincarnation” and so.

To think about what is my best drama what i have ever seen…it’s really hard but Liar Game would be in top 3 for sure.

    • Cheeza

Do you know any good website to watch, download ore torrent them (with subs). Because all the websites I know have been posting less and less j-dramas and some become impossible to find or juste stop in the middle.

      • yanderenightmares

d-addicts. But most of those are soft subs.

        • Cheeza

I know that one too but even there it’s hard to find some jdoramas.

          • yanderenightmares

Oh, ok. Well that’s the only one I know of. Yea, it’s kind of slow as well.

    • nadia

Sigh I don’t know if I can take my baby Fukushi Sota in love scene or whatever romance lol

    • yanderenightmares

I still have to watch drama’s of like 3 seasons before.

    • emily

I’m surprised Love in Tokyo 2 isn’t on the list since it premieres in November?

      • Reileen

I’m sorry but I did not see it in the compiled list of fall dramas premiering. :( Yes, maybe bec it premieres late
