Vice Explores How Sailor Moon Changed the Lives of LGBT Kids in the 90s

Sailor Moon is one of the most popular manga and anime series in the world. Even though it reached across the world and touched several different kinds of people, it was especially meaningful to LGBT youth due to its sympathetic portrayal of queer characters. For youth that didn’t have role models to look up to as they dealt with bullying while in the closet, Sailor Moon provided a solace.
