So Otona no Okite and Hikari no Atelier are the first hits from 2017.

      • RIAJ

This is pretty much the best way to see which songs were the most successful each year.
I wonder how often they are played on the radio? I don’t know much about how it works there to be honest.

    • RIAJ

I never really like to see Western songs on the RIAJ lists, specially when they aren’t anything special. Most of them are recent songs and on the same category are older Japanese songs, many times with way more quality (not that it is that difficult) – better lyrics and instrumentals by actual artists. The Japanese industry isn’t perfect and there are many songs produced with a “commercial” intention, but it is also true that many Japanese buy excellent music by true artists, even this days (years) that it is difficult even for them to sell as well as before or, if they are new acts, at least do as well as they deserved when compares to great successful songs and albums from the past.

Anyway, I’m a bit confused about “R.Y.U.S.E.I.” only having achieved to sell a million copies now.

I’m surprised Ryusei only scanned 1 million now lol
