The Recording Industry Association of Japan Releases Its Digital Certifications for August

Five songs from 2016 were certified Gold this month for selling 100,000 copies: Eir Aoi’s “Tsubasa”, Namie Amuro’s “Hero”, EGOIST’s “KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS”, JY’s “Suki na Hito ga Iru Koto”, and back number’s “Boku no Namae wo.”

Triple Platinum (750,000):

Platinum (250,000):

Gold (100,000):

      Hasn’t this been Namie Amuro’s best selling digital single in a while? Perhaps only behind “Love Story”?

      • That remains to be seen. Just because it topped the chart a bunch, it doesn’t mean that it necessarily sold a lot.

        Contrail was certified double platinum and both Tsuki and BRIGHTER DAY went platinum. Mint went gold too. I’m sure it’ll go platinum, but it hasn’t sold all that much.
