    • Question of the week: Do you think Namie Amuro would be retiring if she was a different kind of act? One who didn’t release all the time. One who didn’t dance. One who was more of a singer-songwriter rather than a performer.

      • Igor Lunei

        Maybe

      • AoZora

most probably yes… I think being a performer comes with health risk and increased breach of privacy….

      • Anggita S. P. Kuswandi

        I think so

      • What

I feel like there’s so many different “if’s” and possibilities to your question. If she was a singer-songwriter rather than a performer, would her career still be the same or something different? Would she have the same level of success she has now or maybe more or less success? And how has her current level success influenced her decision to retire?? I mean she could have become a singer-songwriter instead and still want to retire after 25 years simply because she’s had enough..

      • dianablancheneige

Yes for sure.. have been said that, I am still shocked about her retirement news.. JPOP industry NEEDS women like her ;___; she represents girl power and independence.

        • Do you think this is missing in the younger generation?

          • Reileen

didn’t they try hard to do a 2nd Namie with Nishiuchi Mariya, even pushing her to win JRA, but it’s been clear they weren’t getting the results
speaking of her, what’s she up to now? did they give up on her?

            • WD79

I don’t know if they have given up on Nishiuchi, but she was the lead actress in the latest Cutie Honey movie. I think instead of pushing her to be another Namie, they should’ve just let her be the piano-playing, self-composing musician/singer that she essentially is.

              • Reileen

and that Cutie Honey movie bombed. they should also start choosing decent acting projects for her.

                • wintwice

She had a female lead for getsuku drama earlier this year but the ratings were low, though it was pretty enjoyable imo. I think she should keep working on acting for now, she has potential and she’s pretty charming.

              • Ara

But her drama theme song was so hot though. I prefer that over her boring ballads.

            • OMG I totally forgot about her…

          • dianablancheneige

Yes completely. We need proper female role models in the JPOP industry. -.-

            • We do have them though. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: none of the new female soloists want to be Namie or Ayu or Kuu; they want to be Utada or RIngo or YUI.

              • Ara

So who Kana Nishino aiming to be? Ringo?

      • Diego

Yes, I think the retirement is not linked to her kind of act but to her personality. I’m a fan of hers since since I discovered J-pop and I think she makes great music but I’ve always found her very cold and distant. She doesn’t like to be in the spotlight and draw the attention of media so that’s probably the main reason. Actually, she has not appeared on TV since 2008 iirc.

I might be wrong but I’ve often thought she was still performing because she enjoyed it and gave a damn about her public. When I watch her tours I feel like something is missing and it’s like she can’t connect with the audience…

        • I think she just enjoy performing thus keep continuing for all these years. But when we talk about how to connect with the audiences, she certainly lack and didnt have the ability to do that. That is why there is no MC segments in her concerts.

        • This reminds me of something a friend said when I told him she was retiring: The android has finally gone to the scrap yard!

      • Nikki ok

I don’t think so, she’s smart for retiring now that she’s still relevant better than never retiring and just disappearing because nobody cares anymore

      • circe154

I wonder if she was afraid of becoming someone like Madonna or Ayu. You can go out on top, or you can go on, long after losing touch with what the pubic wants, and becomes a punch line. Part of success is knowing when to quit.
If she were a singer song-writer I don’t think her career would have lasted as long, she wouldn’t have connected as well with a new generation that doesn’t remember her from the 90s and we wouldn’t notice if she retired.

      • surfboardt

I honestly don’t think the problem is the type of act she and more about her personality and background/history. My personal take is that her shotgun wedding and divorce made her value privacy and family a lot more, so she wasn’t feeling the typical artist promotion activities and started pulling away from variety show appearances. While it’s clear that her other means of promotion worked, avoiding variety show appearances and limiting how often she appears in the public didn’t completely solve the problem of people invading her private life (e.g., tabloids/paparazzi taking pictures of her and her son, writing articles/rumors about her, etc).

So if anything, I’d say she probably wouldn’t have retired if she never got into a shotgun wedding because that’s likely the catalyst for her valuing privacy so much, and that’s something that wouldn’t matter if she’s an idol, idol-turned-serious-artist, singer-songwriter, etc. There might be some specifics that might occur such as more public interest in the scandal due to it involving an idol, but I don’t see that difference being enough of a factor to change things.

    • Igor Lunei

U know… the life of heize’s haters deve ser so difícil… the gostosa is the most lead female artist in the korea this year, enquanto suas faves just been eating moscas… heize is the new shit of k-pop, resta aceitar, bitches…

      • WD79

No idea who these people are, sorry!

    • AoZora
      • What

        5 year long affair??? Wtfff

        • AoZora

Yes, She kept denying in all this while, finally let it out when her ex-lover spoke about it..

          • What

            This whole situation is just…wow

          • hasawa

Disgusting how she’s using her children as an excuse to lie about her extra marital affair like ‘ I didn’t want them to know/be hurt’
Bish! If you didn’t want to hurt your children/family you could just not having an affair at all!!

            • AoZora

              True!

      • SlyMoonFox

I like how people who cheat always say they feel ashamed and don’t want their loved ones to know, like b*tch really? You knew it was wrong and dragged it for 5 years? Girl bye.

      • Puppy Power!!!

Religious people being hypocrites. What’s new???

    • Anggita S. P. Kuswandi

First of all: OMG that FEMM GIF!!!
Second: Do you know about the scandal that happened to the YouTuber Hikaru? (Hikaru, NOT Hikakin)
If so, what are your opinions about him and the said scandal? Do you think it’ll affect the entire Japanese YouTube Universe?
Lastly: Gotta go back to my social-defense bubble!
      https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/500f62ec7c680ec18521fd01df1e2a01d2d7a55835bdc67756b60d2e7c394ded.gif

      • PigeonPop

Most of the big-name Japanese Youtubers are ticking time bombs, so the situation with Hikaru doesn’t surprise me. The same thing can be said for many Jvloggers as well.

        • dianablancheneige

          What happened exactly?

          • PigeonPop

It’s a bit of a mouthful, so I’ll post this link from Bloomberg (it’ll do a better job explaining what VALU is, which is what the scandal is centered around).
            https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-20/valu-the-startup-in-japan-that-lets-anyone-hold-a-personal-ipo

            • Anggita S. P. Kuswandi

Thanks for broadening my knowledge about VALU! Been curious since this thing heating up in the Jvloggers’ fandom, especially between my fellow Hikakin fans from Japan, and my Japanese language proficiency isn’t enough to understand the entire situation 😅

      • I’m just sad that Hikaru had to drag Kindan Boys down with him…I’ll miss their crazy videos lol. I wanted to see what happened with their search for Messiah’s girlfriend.

        • Anggita S. P. Kuswandi

Ah, yes, Kindan Boyz got dragged too. Sigh.

Btw I’m a noob in the Jvlogger fandom and my fellow fans there are mostly Hikakin-centric. In fact, I discovered Hikaru while binge-watching Hajime Shacho in case of curiosity last year.

One day I finally binge-watching Hikaru for the sake of my curiosity-fulfilling, only to find out more nasty things about him beyond just a lotto-hoarding personality.

According to my observation, he’s an absolute narcissist who aimed for glory and gospel in the J-Entertainment universe by dissing the other Jvloggers and trying hard to show that “I Am The Best”, which is cringeworthy.

          • Urara Kasugano

Am i the only one who loooves PDRsan?
and i also like mahoto (cause he’s hot)

But i only watch their videos and i was wondering what do you think about them?

            • Anggita S. P. Kuswandi

Although I am Hikakin-biased kind of YouTube viewer, I sometimes watch PDRさん too. He can be vulgar sometimes but his NSFW kind of diction and context are waaaaaayyyyy better than the French Cruller Hikaru.

His way of dissing or imposing other YouTubers is highkey enjoyable that I actually laughed at it

    • AoZora

My two watches of the week –
      1. ReLIFE : Nakagawa Taishi is the life of this movie….
2.Today’s Kira-kun : Again a high school romance movie with cute lead pair…

Both are one time watch movies:p

      • Karen Khoo

Kyou no Kira-kun was such a sweet movie. Haven’t watched ReLIFE yet

        • AoZora

I felt relife was more interesting than Kira kun.. Do watch it:p

      • Mela

I guess I should watch the anime first..but yeah Taishi, snatch that shojo manga prince title from Kento!

        • AoZora

hmm… He is still 19 but looks mature.. He has pulled off both the roles pretty well… I prefer him over YamaKen….

        • Puppy Power!!!

          You should watch the anime!!

    • AkaneHaga

is that necessary to remake manga like gintama/bleach even tokyo ghoul into a movie live action?
looklike many hardcore manga fans doesn’t even care

      • yamakita

        Not necessary at all!!! :(

      • WD79

At least Gintama was a success. Many hardcore fans actually do love the adaptation.

      • Ara

If done well (script, director etc) and with the right casts. Rurouni Kenshin and Gintama are some that have pleased hardcore fans.

    • PigeonPop

The very familiar Chopin SP, but with even better transitions, arm movements on the spins, and newly featuring a Rippon-3T on the combo. The whole 4Lz talk is rather horrifying, but this is Yuzuru after all…

      • PigeonPop

Also posting this–I’m really pleased with how Team Japan is developing their junior ladies. Not as dominant as Eteri’s group in Russia, but a talented bunch nonetheless and certainly stronger than the juniors from other traditional powerhouses like the U.S. or Canada. Nana’s lutz and loop in particular, is cream of the crop material. That nutjob user who occasionally shows up on Arama to spew rubbish on how Nagoya skaters = bad jumping technique is a fool.

        • Eris_03

I think the reason people say that Nagoya skater have bad jumping technique is because majority of their prominent skaters are under Machiko Yamada, and well.. But
Nana has a different coach though

          • PigeonPop

It’s always a combination of the coach *and* the student’s own ability/work ethic–that’s why there’s countless counterexamples to the whole he/she is a good/bad jump coach argument.

Machiko Yamada is an easy target to criticize due to Mao, Kanako, and Shoma but these folks conveniently ignore Mako Yamashita who, like Nana, has solid technique and one of the best lutzes out of the juniors at the moment. Other Yamada students of the past like Yoshie Onda or Kumiko Koiwai (both one of the stronger jumpers in their respective eras) are similarly ignored because it goes against their cheaply-spun narrative.

            • Eris_03

Maybe because those three are her most prominent skaters. Eitherway she has Midori Ito, who is like the legendary ldy figure skater who can comepete with men’s field with the jump content.

              • PigeonPop

Some folks have actually taken a jab at Midori’s jumps because of the leg wrap. Quite ridiculous in the grand scheme of things, but they do exist (and are also nutjobs in my eyes).

        • Maknae

My new favorite junior! I hope I can see her a lot in the future this season but the competition sure makes it tough. :/ All the luck to her!

      • yamakita

I’ve never heard of this competition, but it seems he put out his best! That was a flawless performance. Oh those spins!! Quite amazing.

        • It’s part of the Challenger Series.

    • dianablancheneige

      • ♥Cat♦On♠The♣Street♥

Me tooooo. I actually got into jpop from Inuyasha (don’t judge lmao) and I heard her song “Come” at the end. So I jumped in a little after Namie’s Style. I’m not a stan, but have been following her ever since. So it’s a little sad…..

    • HyperMoot .

Watch of the week: to watch list from 2015 to 2017 getting awfully big but didn’t try anything ‘new’

      Rewatch:

      1) About her brother (2010), Yoji Yamada.

Such a great cast for this family drama which is probably one of the best films from director Yamada. Awesome perf from veteran actor Tsurube Shofukutei, that whole scene when he messes up his niece’s wedding is a real blast, great magnitude on the comedy scale. In the end it’s actually a sad and moving tale. I really like that kind of movies and sometimes I have the impression that Ozu’s soul travels back and forth between Yamada and Kore Eda.

      http://asianwiki.com/About_Her_Brother

      2) Shinku aka Deep Red (2003)

What can happen when a girl, the survivor of a horrible massacre, decides to meet the daughter of the murderer who destroyed her family. Don’t know why but I felt the urge to watch again that film. I was just out of university and new to modern Movies, I stumbled upon this. It’s that kind of little flick that is far from being flawless but leaves a lasting impression. Don’t know why exactly, the soundtrack, the eerie atmosphere (in some beautifully shot sequences, the deep red colour makes sense), the strange chemistry between the two female leads? Whatever, everyone has their list of personal cult movies, this one is in mine.

Hey! Say! JUMP announced a Dome Tour in addition to their current arena Tour
      Tokyo Dome sched: 12/29, 12/30, 1/1
hmmmm looks like they’re going to Kohaku

      • AoZora

That’s what rumors are floating about … Jump will be this year’s kohaku host… If they become, it will be exciting… :)

        • Michie

Sick. Tight. If they become hosts, I would lose my mind

        • Reileen

Host?? You mean, guest right? I saw rumors of them debuting in Kohaku, but not as hosts. That is too far fetched lmao

          • AoZora

I meant host.. The white team….

            • Reileen

where did it came from? fans??
I haven’t seen Japanese sources putting out that kind of rumor. Just them possibly being Kohaku and speculating who else in Johnnys will be staying/ leaving Kohaku.
That’s also kind of impossible. Like they’d make K8 as hosts first before HSJ. If anything, I think I’ve seen speculation that it could be Aiba again.

              • AoZora

Let me try and get the link which mentioned JUMP being pushed for Moderator’s role…

              • AoZora

                Sorry,I think its about participation.
Here is the link – http://www.johnnys-watcher.net/article/453572717.html

                • Reileen

yeah no one was reporting about them as possible hosts

        • WD79

Please no. They’re too boring. And obvious lack of experience in hosting live shows too.

          • guest

            +1
Though they suck even in the pre-recorded shows. It’s amazing how a group that’s been so long in the industry is so bad at it, even if it’s just a Johnny’s show like Shounen Club.

            • WD79

Omg they were so bad at Shounen Club! Kind of a relief when they graduated from the show. The current hosts are much better (and funnier).

        • Are they even at that level?

          • AoZora

I was about participation in this year’s kohaku.. not hosting.. i was wrong..

    • hasawa

Bruh I knew that Tsubasa Masuwaka was made of plastic but these latest ‘genuine’ shoots of her got me shook : https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/891267eded821378646c42ff1b81fe6d5d5caa45ef7bb467ff6f347a64d246f1.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0b467f27bdab81e60924577c058ba5d3d8d2d2a2ae56fd6564241ea78260043d.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/95616b20249deb077ed1eafac69ec8d558e5eff475a3bcde9c7cb37c9b0efc25.jpg
Her face is so HUGE in comparison to her tiny figure in her insta pics! #queenofknowingherbestangles Not sure if Botox is aggravating her overall face rendering a very -signature- bloated result or if she’s always been like this
Her lips seem to be fairly damaged by the time when she used to inflate them to hell and forth back then as well.. or maybe they only been like this and I just got fooled by her PS and Photoshopping~

    • light

I’ve finally watched Wonder Woman, i don’t know if it’s because it was hyped so much but I just found it…ok? Not that amazing.

      • Ara

SAME! I thought Gal Gadot performance was overrated, the bad guys + supporting men were meh and most of the amazons can’t act. It was entertaining and had its funny bits but it was just ok. It did make Chris Pine less annoying than my initial impression, so that’s one wee bit bonus.

        • light

I felt like it was a bit rushed, with too many things happening at once. Plus i’m being abit nitpicky but, she seemed clueless about some stuff of the normal world and yet had no problems with others.

I liked Chris Pine, i hoped for more funny parts between him and the rest of the cast, too bad.

          • Ara

It’s a bit clunky and I don’t buy some of the cluelessness. The garment fitting scenes bothered me the most. She should be smart enough not to rip that long pencil skirt.

I used to hate Chris Pine’s face, now I don’t. Tq WW for that

        • Puppy Power!!!

I’m already so sick of her overexposure!!

          • Ara

People acting as if she’s an a-lister quality actor. She’s not. She’s just a pretty face.

            • Puppy Power!!!

She is like what JLaw was 2 years ago!!!!

              • Ara

Tbh, I think JLaw is a brilliant actor so can’t agree with you on that buddy. Gadot definitely not Academy Awards material.

                • Puppy Power!!!

But ppl are sick of Jlaw, just like how they’ll be sick of Gal in a year. Highly overrated and obnoxious both of them

      • Khooni

Wonder Woman benefited a lot from the political climate in the US. Years of anger over the lack of strong roles for women, coupled with the conservative politicians’ overreaction to the female-only screening of the film and the incessant misogynistic articles from the media that tried to suggest that if WW lost money, Hollywood wouldn’t make movies with female directors again, which is funny because the studio has made flops with male directors+leads and never stopped working with the male gender. Journalists started predicting its failure much before it even had a teaser out. So the success was more about…a ‘fuck you’ to Hollywood for belittling half the human population for years and less about the merits of the film itself. Women AND men alike turned up to the theatres just to express their willingness to watch strong female roles, not just damsels in distress.

        • light

That’s so true, male directors can make a string on flops and still have a chance while female directors often only has that one chance.

For me Wonder Woman was still better than, let’s say, Batman vs Superman, still it wasn’t anything memorable. As you said its success was probably due to a mix of things.

        • circe154

There’s also the fact that Wonder Woman is one of those super heroes that even non-nerds are familiar with, but she’s never had her own movie while obscure (to the general public) characters like Deadpool or Guardians of the Galaxy already had movies.
The public wanted Wonder Woman, and it was about time WB gave them Wonder Woman.

          • Khooni

Well, DC beat Marvel to a female superhero flick. I’ll pat them on their backs for it. It’d be nice if there was a Black Widow movie in the making, even if I personally am not the audience for superhero stuff.

I Guardians of the Galaxy was a thing until the movie came out.

            • circe154

Even most comic nerds didn’t know who they were.
Marvel is going ahead with Captain Marvel since Wonder Woman didn’t flop. There’s plenty of demand for Black Widow but Marvel doesn’t seem interested in making it.
Its sad that DC is screwing up so badly since before the Marvel movies, their superheroes beat Marvel in name recognition. The public loves these characters but DC has no idea what they’re doing with them (outside the comics; which have been great since the universe got rebooted).

              • Ara

I thought Marvel has already confirmed to put Captain Marvel on their roster before WW got her box office results. Not a fan of Black Widow solo movie if they’re sticking with the Banner romance, eeww. I wonder what other female Marvel heroes they can push for a solo movie.

I’m excited about Thor Ragnarok and Black Panther. Also getting ready to be disappointed by Justice League.

                • Khooni

There was this Mrs. Marvel animated series that they announced. The character is voiced by Ashly Burch. Idk if a live action will ever happen?

And I presume Ben Affleck will continue to play Batman?

                  • Ara

I don’t think there’s a Mrs. Marvel. It’s Ms Marvel, the muslim superhero girl who’s a fan of Captain Marvel. Hoping it’ll get a live action version but not sure if they have enough material. Ms Marvel is one of Marvel’s best selling new publication.

I think so. I thought he was done with it but the JL filming are already done.

                • circe154

They’ve been saying they were going to make it for awhile and only got serious about it when DC announced WW. There were worries that it would go back on the back burner if WW flopped.

              • Khooni

I personally hate how everybody is trying to make every hero edgy/dark by gibing them unnecessary back stories. Isn’t that one of the several reasons Man of Steel didn’t do as well as people expected it to?

I’m really excited for the Carmen Sandiego series that Netflix is doing. That is one show that I’d love to see a live-action version of.

                • circe154

That’s been DC thing since the 80s and they’re only recently starting to get away from it thanks to The New 52 flopping. Had the Nolan Batman movies flopped they might have given it up 15 years ago; instead they decided to make everyone Frank Miller’s Batman.

      • Khooni

I didn’t like the movie much either. But then I was never a super hero nerd to begin with.

Really enjoyed this one. This was more of a women power/feminist movie than WW, in my opinion.

        • Ara

And to think they were thinking hiring Gal instead of Charlize. Thank goodness.

Wonder Woman is my favorite hero from DC verse so I’m bummed the movie didn’t live up to the hype. It was probably also because i knew GalGadot is an IDF brat and has implied something nasty on Palestinians plight. Putting that aside, she’s beautiful but she’s not a good actress. Her facial expressions in WW was cringey.

          • Khooni

I don’t think I’m educated enough on the subject of Middle Eastern affairs to make a comment on Gal Gadot’s..err comment. I can’t justify what she did, but I can she where she’s coming from? Let’s keep in mind that she had served in the Israeli military, which we know is in a constant state of conflict. The way she may look at things is very different than how we look at them. I am lucky to come from a country that has a peaceful neighbor like Canada. From an Israeli point of view, she’s a patriot. From the POV of the rest of the world, she’s an asshole. Idk. I think the US interferes too much into other countries’ affairs and I don’t despise being judged for something the govt did without asking me. I didn’t ask for Iraq to be invade, for instance. Non-Jews/non-Muslims are more likely to sympathise with Israelis than with the Muslims of the Arab world (Islamaphobia ofc). I’m not sure what I should feel about all this. It’s something that only the parties concerned have the right to speak on, because they deal with it everyday, u know?

            • Ara

Nah. I have friends who have seen condition in Gaza. It’s like a big prison with restricted electricity, water, food, etc. The Israelis have constantly been destroying civilian homes & schools and evicting Palestians off their own properties. It’s horrible. I can never side with atrocities like that.

Btw did you know she made the #weareright tag when the big battle happened killing thousands of Palestinian, kids getting bombed playing on the beach etc? I’ve seen footages (courtesy of woke Jewish/Israeli friend) of Israelis enjoying the “fireworks” on rooftops while drinking beer & cheering. Zionist mindset are the worst.

              • Khooni

I really wasn’t aware of that. That’s absolutely horrible 😠

Why was there never a backlash against her for that??

                • Ara

Palestinians pov are pretty much not a thing the West care to know about. They’re the ones who have supported Zionist setting up the Israel terrorist state.

People justifying her post that’s why.

              • Mei

                Lord, that’s fucking terrible

          • Khooni

Charlize Theron is such a badass in the MM. Kicked butt without having to fit beauty standards.

            • Ara

The makers said it would be a totally different look for the character before Charlize came with her shaved head. Tbh I don’t mind heroes fitting the beauty standard like WW but Mad Max is a bad bad world to care about having long hair.

Today’s watch: Traces of Sin starring Tsumabuki Satoshi and Mitsushima Hikari…Wonderful acting but plot has some loopholes….. Anyways it is certainly a good watch if you have patience since the pace of the story is pretty slow… A story wherein social boundaries in a relationship are broken..

      • WD79

The story is consistent with Minato Kanae’s works so the slowness was to be expected.

        • ennie

After I watched this movie I was a little bit angry for a while. It wasn’t that I needed perfect closure on things but I felt like there was a lot going on. Maybe in the book you don’t feel these two stories converging at the beginning but in the movie it is laughably noticeable… just get to the part with the sister. Then afterwards there seems to be no fulfilling response to why these sibling characters are the way they are…guess they’re just insane.

          • AoZora

The reason the siblings being like that is Mitsuko was sexually abused since 9 and Tanaka was physically abused by their biological father.. Mother hardly cared about it…

            • ennie

              I watched the movie, I didn’t mean I didn’t understand it.
It just seemed to be hate begets more hate, and they pile it on thick. It’s a little ludicrous to think a case like this would be unsolved. If I wanted more of an interesting less bombastic story about the social ladder I’d rewatch N no Tame ni.

              • AoZora

how is N no Tame ni?

                • ennie

So…I actually watched it much later than when it originally aired. I kept seeing it be recommended here and elsewhere online. It really pains me with the Keisuke Koide drama because it may make someone hesitant or unwilling to watch both N no Tame ni or Gukoroku (as he is in both) which are both good but like I said I appreciate N no Tame ni more.

I think of all the Kanae Minato works I’ve seen it is probably more approachable like Reverse but has more time for character study than other works. So less of a who-done-it but why-did-this-happen like Gukoroku. I was often drawn to the details, the class divide invades even the set details and minor details creep along with usually satisfying closure.

                  • AoZora

OK.. I will try watching it.. Thanks for the info :)

              • AoZora

I finished watching N no Tami ni Just now.. It was wonderful… I mean the acting and plot was so convincing… The pace of the story was good for an interesting watch… Thanks for the recommendation…

      • HyperMoot .

aaah this one is in my want list, will dl soon

    • ImATomato

What’s about the rumor of Kanjani’s Ohkura marrying his gf?
That’s true? What do you think about it?

      • Ara

Yuriko marrying Tacchon? Yeah, why not. Any Johnny’s marriage news is good news to me.

    • Puppy Power!!!

What do guys feel about BlackPink???

    • HyperMoot .

Saw in another post that Covenant (Alien) was doing well in Japan. Anyone seen it? liked it?
Would like to give it a try but though it’s Scott’s thing , I’m always suspicious with sequels, prequels or whatever quells.

      • Wow, I actually didn’t even know it premiered already! And I will probably watch it, but the way Ridley Scott handled the whole Alien thing lately is… well, a bit disgusting. So, I am not expecting much to be honest.

        • HyperMoot .

In spite of a few flaws, I sort of liked Prometheus. Not a big fan of the Alien saga anyway except Scott’s original :)

          • I loved Aliens a lot and how it took and reworked the original, but took it in a whole different direction at the same time. The other two are… so-so (and let’s just forget the AvP movies exist..). But what pissed me of is how, around the time Prometheus came out Scott was all about “Alien is done, xenomorphs are a thing of the past” and then when that District 9 guy was supposed to start working on his Alien sequel, he got jealous (or maybe worried that it will do better than his film), cancelled it and turned Prometheus 2 into Alien 5… with a buncha xenomorphs. :D Such a creep.

I’m watching Kahogo no Kahoko…..I keep thinking a drunk Kihoko (Takahata Mitsuki’s character from Itsuka Kono Koi) would definitely give a good lecture to Kahoko.
